1st ASSISTANT GOLF PROFESSIONAL
ECC is looking for a "team-minded, service-oriented" first assistant golf professional to join our team of PGA professionals. The successful applicant will have some experience in the golf business, along with a commitment to learn and grow. "Member-centric" service is a vital asset for success, as is experience with golf equipment fitting, technology and related. The candidate should be driven for success, possess an outgoing personality, proficient with Golf Genius Software, club repair, etc.
Salary: $55,000.00 - $63,000.00 Per Year
Total Anticipated Compensation Up To: $70,000.00
Experience Required
- Class A member strongly preferred. Specialized or Certified Professional is a bonus
- Goal of becoming a Head Golf Professional in the future
- 3-5+ years of private golf club experience preferred
- 3-5 years experience in buying and merchandising
- Experience with invoice processing and monthly inventory management
- Experience in leading a Junior Golf program strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of basic club repair
- Knowledge of the Rules of Golf
- Clubfitting experience a plus
- Experience managing bag room staff preferred
- Budgeting
- Reasonable experience with Golf Genius member event management
- Currently has served as an Assistant for two years at a recognized facility
- Current, good standing in the PGA Associate program required (for eligibility to play in Oregon PGA Pro-Ams for example)
Essential Responsibilities
- Assist in managing the Outside Service Team
- Attend Department Head meetings or Board Meetings in the absence of the Head Golf Professional
- Assist with the Daily Golf Operations
- Great Interpersonal/Customer Service Skills
- Outside Services Training and Development
- Golf Instruction and Junior Golf
- Tournament Operations and Golf Genius Software
- Merchandising and Inventory Control using Jonas Point of Sale
- Ability to play in Pro-Ams and host ECC members effectively
- Knowledge of the rules of golf
- Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations
Benefits
The income will be made up of the following:
- Salary range of $55,000 - $63,000 based on candidate experience and qualifications
- Lesson and Teaching Income of $3k-$8k with a split of 85/15 based on “member engagement” skills, work with junior programming, clinics
- Total anticipated compensation range of $60,000 - $75,000 DOE

401k after one year (5% contribution – 4% match) and PTO/vacation after one year per club policies
